Vehicle Photography And Videography Rests

Blur Banisher specializes in designing wildlife photography and videography mounts for use in any vehicle, enabling crystal clear, stable and blur/vibration free footage at an affordable price.

Especially for 'golden hour' wildlife photography and videography in the early mornings and late afternoons, when the light is low and shutter speeds drop.

Two unique rests are available: The Blur Banisher Beanbag and Filmsteady.

Beanbag - All The Stability. None Of The 6–8kg Struggle.

Most photography beanbags work — until you have to move. The Blur Banisher Beanbag gives you a stable platform in a lightweight setup you can keep on the vehicle while driving.

  • 450g and easy to handle: no wrestling a conventional 6-8kg heavy bag in and out of the car
  • No “pack up / set up” loop: keep it in place between sightings
  • More usable photos and clips, more keepers: steadier support for long lenses and video in vibration-prone conditions
  • Confidence on rough roads: magnet support plus a door-handle clip for extra security
  • Durable outer shell: ripstop canvas for long-term use

Frequently Asked Questions

CAN I LEAVE THE BLUR BANISHER ON THE CAR WINDOW SILL WHILE DRIVING?

Yes, no problem. As long as the magnet is attached to the outside of the door and the straps are clipped around the door handle on the inside. The bag will stay where it is no matter how bad the road gets.

It sticks like boerewors to a braai grid, as the popular South African saying goes.

WHY IS IT MADE FROM RIPSTOP CANVAS?
Durability is important for a photography beanbag and Ripstop Canvas provides that in spades. When in use it will be exposed to the sun, dust and possibly rain (water resistant) so it needs to be tough to withstand the elements. It's been designed to last for a long time.
WHY WAS THE BLUR BANISHER DEVELOPED?
I (Bruce Whittaker) am a wildlife photographer and videographer.

I was frustrated by the fact that on a game drive I constantly had to set up my equipment each time I reached a sighting, only to take it down again when I drove away. There had to be an better way.

After searching for a solution and not finding anything suitable locally (South Africa), I decided to develop it myself, and the Blur Banisher was born.

WHY IS THE BLUR BANISHER SO LIGHT (450g), DOESN'T A BEANBAG HAVE TO BE HEAVY?

The weight of a conventional photography beanbag (6 - 8kg) is necessary to provide a stable platform and keep it fixed to the surface it's on.

The Blur Banisher is specially designed to achieve the same objectives using a light, supportive filling and the magnet and door handle clip. You don't have to struggle with a conventional heavy, unwieldy beanbag in order to get stability and support for your wildlife photography. Lighter is better.

Testimonials

The Blur Banisher Beanbag provides a stable base for my camera, allowing me to capture higher-quality images and less shaky videos. Since using it, there has been a noticeable improvement in the quality of my footage.

The beanbag is extremely practical and easy to use, as it is very lightweight and simple to set up. I also find it very useful that it can be left in place, as this saves time that can be critical in wildlife photography.

I am a very happy user of the Blur Banisher Beanbag, and I will never photograph without it again, as it is truly a great asset to my photography

We're currently in the middle of our trip to Kruger so thought I would let you know how my husband is getting on with the beanbag. Short answer is that he's very impressed!

Says it's very sturdy and stable on the car door and the magnet is very strong indeed and takes some pulling off. The only downside is that he can't use the strap that's supposed to attach to the inside door handle - unfortunately the rental car we have been given has a solid door handle so nowhere to use the strap.

Having said that, the beanbag stays put anyway, even in strong winds and on rough roads so this hasn't been a problem. It's also an excellent base for using binoculars as well as a camera, so all in all delighted with it.
